Wikipedia article

This article is about an older version of DF.
A large, aggressive, oceanic fish with a mouth full of pointed teeth. It is capable of great speed.

Shortfin mako sharks are cartilaginous fish that can be found in temperate and tropical oceans. Slightly larger than the average dwarf, they provide a fair amount of meat when butchered. As fully-sized creatures, they can't be fished by fisherdwarves, but can be caught with a drowning chamber. An infant shortfin mako shark is called a shortfin mako shark pup.

Being cartilaginous, shortfin mako sharks won't give bones if butchered (though they'll still provide a skull).

Some dwarves like shortfin mako sharks for their speed.

Admired for its speed.
