Name[edit]

The name of this article is unofficial, as no consistent terminology beyond the "mythical" interaction token is known. I chose the name to provide something recognizable for its purpose (guards a mysterious dungeon), rather than anything specific to any given flavor. Naming it "Mythical creature" would cause confusion with fanciful creatures and not be immediately clear.

Toady One has used "dread lord" and "cultist", while Putnam used "lord" (for intelligent leaders). The Lua beta may provide a more proper internal name.

Dungeon guardian requirements[edit]

General:

For the lord:

  • Creature type chosen per world
  • Evaluated based on caste
  • 10% chance of it picking a race that is exclusively underground or has [GOOD] or [EVIL] or [SAVAGE], otherwise it'll pick one that doesn't. If no non-underground/aligned creatures are available, this chance is ignored.

For the guards:
