A small (but not quite [[vermin]]) species of tortoise that appears in the desert. No particularly notable characteristics, but it will give you a [[shell]] if [[butcher]]ed, which may be useful for appeasing [[strange mood]]s. Ironically, desert tortoises [[swim]] somewhat faster than they can move on land.
