Wikipedia article

This article is about an older version of DF.
A giant humanoid monster with two heads.

Ettins are similar to the cyclops and the giant, but they have two heads. They pose the same threat as the other giant humanoids, as they are also enormous and building destroyers. They are usually found in caves, so if you embark near one, be careful.
The heads are known to argue with each other, but that doesn't make the ettin any less dangerous.
They can survive having one of their heads lopped off, but may die nonetheless due to the heavy bleeding. Ettins can be easily stopped with weapon trap armed with large serrated discs; they also can be captured in a cage trap.
